Rediscovering the joy of Sabbath rest.

Have you ever sabbathed?

I mean really sabbath.

In our journey as Christians, we shed our love of Sabbath, rooted in ancient Jewish culture for the modern convenience of productivity and grace.

We lost the art of rest.

Of slowing down.

Of enjoying life and all of it's leisurely moments gifted by the Creator.

What if in resting we could recover life?

To realize we're not slaves in a machine.

That we're more than the sum of our output.

What if we recognize that like the Divine image we're created in, we can rest and enjoy just being.

Being sons

Being daughters.

Being loved.

Not sure what it should look like?

That’s ok.

Put away the phone

Stop the usual busyness and urgent activity.

Set aside anything that feels like work.

And just enjoy the good life.

It starts at sundown on Friday—

Will you join me in embracing eternity in a day?

May it be full of joy and God's presence.

This might just be the start of something glorious.
